The California Central Coast boasts some of the countries finest wineries. The Casitas of Arroyo Grande is beautifully situated for visiting dozens of wineries for tastings.

The San Louis Obispo Vintners Association. Midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the SLO (that’s what we locals call it) wine region is comprised of three pristine viticulture areas: the Edna Valley, Arroyo Grande Valley and Avila Valley. Our small, mostly family-owned wineries are well known for their hand-crafted bottlings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Zinfandel and more.

     Talley Vineyards (1.8 miles)
Estate bottled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The goal at Talley Vineyards is to produce estate grown chardonnay and pinot noir wines of uncompromising quality that best reflect the unique characteristics of each of the Talley family’s five South Central Coast vineyards.
     Wood Winery (3.8 miles)
Wood Winery’s specialty is producing world class wines. Check out their Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Reserve Syrah, Viognier, Rosé and coming soon a very mellow Sangiovese, Vino Pastoso.
     Kynsi Winery (4.8 miles)
Kynsi is a small family winery located in the temperate Edna Valley Appellation of San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast of California. Don and Gwen Othman, the winemaker/proprietors, focus on producing vineyard designated wines, sourcing their grapes from select coastal vineyards. Kynsi’s passion for quality from the vineyard to the bottle is manifested in lush, generously complex, elegantly balanced wines that reflect distinctive terrior and varietal character.
     Wolff Vineyards (6.3 miles)
Producers of find Edna Valley Estate grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Teroldego, Syrah, Petit Syrah and Riesling. “Our own very-limited production is hand-crafted using traditional Burgundian wine-making methods. French new oak, barrel fermentation, sur lie and batonnage are a few of the techniques applied to our wines,” according to Jean-Pierre Wolff, winemaker.
     Saucelito Canyon Vineyard (6.6 miles)
Nestled in the rugged terrain of the upper Arroyo Grande Valley, Saucelito Canyon Vineyard specializes in estate-grown Zinfandel crafted from old vines planted in 1880. A passion for traditional hands-on winemaking ensures that each wine represents an authentic expression of the estate vineyard and its unique microclimate.
     Baileyana (6.8 miles)
Baileyana crafts wines that are in the old world tradition, yet they create completely modern wines that go beyond the new world standard. Baileyana combines the best of both worlds, old and new, with estate Grand Firepeak Cuvées of concentrated flavors and balanced acidity.
     Claiborne & Churchill (6.8 miles)
Claiborne & Churchill is a small, family owned and operated winery, founded in 1983 and located in the heart of the Edna Valley, just outside San Luis Obispo, California. Inspired by the wines of Alsace, they specialize in premium dry wines made from Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris grapes, as well as handcrafted Pinot Noir from several nearby vineyards. They also produce small lots of other wines, including a Dry Muscat, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sparkling Brut Rose, and a Port-style wine.
     Tangent (6.8 miles)
Offering fresh, crisp and vibrant wines of true varietal character, tangent is the first California winery to focus solely on alternative white wines. This concept was conceived by John Niven and Michael Blaney, the third grape-growing generation of the Edna Valley Niven family. tangent wines are made primarily from grapes grown in the Central Coast, where Niven and Blaney live and breathe.
     Edna Valley Vineyard (7 miles)
Just five miles from the Pacific Ocean, Edna Valley Vineyard has one of the longest and coolest growing seasons in California. Its location in one of the state's few east/west-oriented valleys allows nighttime coastal fog to move inland, cooling the grapes after a long day in the sunlight, so that they slowly mature while retaining sufficient acidity. The vineyard’s unique site consists of layers of clay and volcanic rock over ancient ocean subsoil.
     Piedra Creek Winery (7.6 miles)
Piedra Creek Winery is one of the smallest bonded wineries in California (700 cases per year). Exclusive producers of prize winner, San Floriano -- a blend of Lagrein, Merlot and Petite Syrah. Also available, Benito Dusi Vineyard Zinfandel and estate Pinot Noir.
     Laetitia Vineyard & Winery (7.7 miles)
Located in the heart of California's Central Coast, Laetitia Vineyard & Winery was established to create and promote a singular portfolio of Burgundian-style and méthode champenoise sparkling wines that reflect the terroir of the Arroyo Grande appellation and the typicity of each of our varietals. Their wines transcend Old World and New World techniques, recognizing and utilizing the virtues of both.
     Tolosa Winery (8.6 miles)
Tolosa’s sustainably farmed vineyards are located in the coastal hills of San Luis Obispo. Their goal is to create elegant, balanced wines that are true to varietal character and expressive of the cooling ocean breezes, and long growing season that define their site.
     Sextant Wines (12.5 miles)
Sextant Wines is devoted to expanding the horizons of the Paso Robles wine country by utilizing the unmatchable terroir with old world varietal selections. This allows them to grow grapes to their optimal maturity, creating wines of supreme quality.
     Salisbury Vineyards (12.6 miles)
In the 101-year-old schoolhouse in Avila Valley is where you will find Salisbury Vineyards tasting room and Salisbury Fine Art Gallery. This historic structure is a symbol of their family history -- they have farmed in California since 1850. Their 40 acres of luscious Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Syrah Noir, and newly planted Albariño thrive in the maritime climate of Avila Valley, while their 10 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon rely on the warmer climate of Paso Robles, all acres farmed using sustainable techniques.
     Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards (15.1 miles)
Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards Winery and Tasting Room is located in beautiful See Canyon in the heart of the scenic Central Coast of California. It is a picturesque area located minutes from the beach and nestled among ancient oak trees and babbling creeks. From the award winning Apple Chardonnay, made from their very own See Canyon apples to their simply awesome Pinot Noir, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety they have to offer.
     Per Bacco Cellars (17.5 miles)
The Per Bacco philosophy is to let the land speak through the wines by gently crafting the fruit with an eye on elegance, complexity and depth of flavor. Currently Per Bacco Cellars produces Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir as well as limited production runs of Sangiovese, Syrah, Petite Sirah and a dry Rosé.
